What
is all the hype about GLUTEN?
Does it really affect us? Is this diet for everyone? Can it help me lose weight? These are common questions we are hearing
people ask about the “Gluten Free” craze that is going on.
As many diets come and go “Gluten
Free” is here to stay. Researchers have
found that gluten is the cause of many reactions people have to foods, certain
allergies, side effects, leaky gut syndrome, increases in insulin levels,
celiac disease, and more. It is
estimated that 50-70% of the population has a gluten sensitivity.
What is gluten? Gluten is the protein found in wheat, barley
and rye. It is the ingredient in breads, and pasta’s. Humans cannot fully digest
wheat. Wheat is top eight on the
allergen list. When it is undigested it
begins to ferment and causes gas. When
you are allergic to gluten it damages the lining of your digestive tract. Some of the common symptoms people notice
when they react to gluten are vomiting, stomach pains, bloating, gas, and a very stuffed up nose. You could also be
sensitive to gluten and have milder symptoms.
Most people know if they feel better eliminating gluten from their diet
entirely within two weeks. Most people
recognize a difference almost immediately.
It is not only the obvious
carbohydrates that contain gluten but also the high fat/ high sugar junk foods. www.Glutenfreeclub.com has
tons of recipes that you get for free.
Once you start trying recipes and different foods you will find that it
is a lifestyle change. Food does still
taste good. Gluten free does not take
the fun out of food.
Try it see if it’s for you!

Writing for publication blog Week 4
This class was very frustrating at times for me. When I was finally done with a particular assignment I had a great sense of accomplishment. I didn't know anything personally about posting blogs, or social media before this class. Now that I have had the experience I have to say that it feels refreshing and motivating.
I like going back through the articles, and peices that I have created in the past weeks and seeing what I was able to produce in such little time. It showed me that I can do anything if I really work hard, and put my mind to it.
This class has also opened up my mind to what I can accomplish. I have my google set up now, I will continue blogging on health and nutrition topics. I am in the beginning of making a facebook page, getting my company name approved, incorporating the name, and then making a website. This class has put all of that into focus for me. Without taking this class those might have been the things I waited until the end to do after my studies. Now I realize I can have a presence while I go to school. I want to gain that recognition now so that I have built a presence when I graduate.
Yes, I will do it again.
Thank you,
Casey Grant

Creating Writing Week 3 - Free write for 10 minutes about anything
Today was a good day.
I woke up and went to my Physical therapist. It is amazing to me how people heal. I have been going to my PT for about 5 months
now after a spinal surgery. When I
started going I could barely walk it was my 8th week out of
surgery. I met Alan Gruber and knew he
was the one that was going to help me. I
had seen several others for interviews but no one seemed right. Until my husband and I went to Alan. He came highly referred to us through the
Chiropractic community. My husband is a
Chiropractor. Today when I was there I
met this guy and thought wow he is friendly.
Asking me how I was feeling and said wow you are looking better. After a bit of a conversation I realized it
was a guy that I have been talking to for about 3 months. He was on blood thinners so his doctor told
him that he was not allowed to shave or he would literally with the smallest
cut bleed for hours. It was very dangerous. So he had grown quite and beard and his hair
was a bit longer. Today he was clean
shaven with a haircut as well. I just couldn’t
believe the dramatic difference. In 3
month we both came from barely walking to looking like normal people
again. It is just amazing to me how the
body heals itself if you take care of it.
I am going to school now for my Mind, Body, Wellness diploma
with a nutrition license. I have about
11 months left. Sometimes that seems
super long and other times it seems just close enough to touch. I guess the difference in the feeling is if I
am taking a class that is going very smooth, or if I am taking a class that is
challenging me and then I get a little hard on myself. The classes are a huge challenge to me when
they are not in the specific area that I want to go into. Although I know that I need them to be well
rounded in the end to graduate. I am
looking forward to graduating and opening a wellness/nutrition center. My husband as I mentioned earlier is a Chiropractor
so we think integrating nutrition and wellness to his practice will be a great
addition to what he already offers.
I have a daughter that is 10. She is in 5th grade and is now
taking her AIMS testing. She is a
straight A student and I am so proud of her for that.
Timed stopped at 10:13.7
I am very surprised that this was a ton easier than I
thought it would be. I guess I have the
gift for gab. Ha ha

Creative
Writing Sample Week 2: Casey Grant
I
seek inspiration in my daily life by God, my family, my studies, exercise, and
appreciating what I have. Being
grateful everyday gives me inspiration to try my best. I have always struggled with writing freely because
I tend to over think things. Once I
start writing I notice it becomes easier.
If I write freely, and just get it down on paper it seems to be easier for me. Then I go back and
proof it. I
have found this class a challenge for that reason. I also find it challenging to talk about
myself, and my accomplishments. If you
asked me to write something about one of my family members or friends I would
have no problem writing it for them. I
noticed I got that same response from my trusted friends, and family when they were
proofing my blog for me it was easier for them to critique my writing once it
was down on paper. It is really neat to
see the accomplishment when it is done.
For instance, the discussion question for this week: writing a news
article, I finished it today. I have been
pondering what to write about all week and working on it in my head. Today, I was finally able to get it into a formation
and complete it. This class is a welcoming challenge.
I
do think my inspiration guides my writing style. I write from my heart. I am very honest, upfront, and I have a huge
heart. That guides me in how I write and
what I write about. I care for
people. My husband always tells me to
stop worrying so much for those around me that I don’t even know and worry
about myself for once. I said, “I can’t. This is who I am!” If I can put a smile on someone’s face each
day then that is a great day for me. I
love to spoil my family and friends. I
think that is what life is about.
I
don’t think my writing style blocks my inspiration. I think I get writer’s block, but I feel that
is two different things. Just like
meditation and prayer was hard for me at first so is this public speaking
class. As I get more comfortable within
myself doing a technique it flows easily.
I am the type of person that likes to master the things I do. I like to be great at everything mediocre is
not acceptable. I try to pass that onto
my child as well. We must strive to be
our very best everyday. I feel this
motivation will pass through me onto my clients and they will work hard for me, and themselves. It is proven people will
try 10 times harder for someone else then they will try for themselves. I want to be that motivation to my clients
for them to succeed in their personal goals.
